Community Consultation
Cockburn Cement has developed a comprehensive Community Engagement and Communication Strategy in order to achieve our goal to become a top community and environmental performer by 2016.
Community Forums will continue to be held throughout 2013 to give the community an opportunity to hear first-hand about our improvements and to ask questions and give feedback to our process managers directly. The Stakeholder Advisory Group was also formed to monitor and track specific improvement projects and it will report its progress at our Community Forums.
Neighbourhood Briefings, small group gatherings that were initiated last year, have proved to be popular with community members who want to meet in a small setting and have a tour of the plant. We will continue to offer these meetings on a needs basis.
