Operating Licence

Cockburn Cement operates in accordance with Department of Environment Regulation (DER) requirements under an Operating Licence.

The Operating Licence seeks to minimise emissions and impacts associated with the operation of the Munster Plant. The Operating Licence requires us to operate our cement and quicklime works in compliance with specified emission limits and to monitor and regularly report on environmental performance.

During the past decade, particulate emissions limits have been reduced from 180mg/m3 to a new limit level of 50mg/m3, representing a reduction of nearly 45%.

We are committed to ensuring that our operations continue to comply with our Operating Licence at all times, including the continuous stack emissions monitoring, testing, reporting and corrective action processes. See our Air section for more information on emissions testing and monitoring.
