    As the summer period is traditionally a time when odours may impact on the local community more than others, Cockburn Cement briefed and sought permission from residents at its community forum in December to run a trial over the summer months of a different type of deodorising agent.

    At Cockburn Cement’s Community Form held on Friday 8 December 2011, residents received reassurance that there are no long term health impacts associated with emissions from the company’s Munster plant.

    Residents living around Cockburn Cement’s Munster plant can now keep track of stack emissions from all four kilns at the site with the Company publishing live data to its community website.  
     
  • 1 December
    Cockburn Cement advises that in the early hours of Sunday 27 November 2011, there was a fire at the Munster plant which was isolated to an electrical switchboard inside of the plant.
